Cedric Pietersz appointed Managing Director of Curaçao Gambling Control Board

The Gaming Control Board (GCB) of Curaçao has announced the appointment of Mr Cedric Pietersz as its new Managing Director (MD).

In his capacity as MD, Pietersz will oversee current licensing activities in accordance with existing legislation and lead the transformation process following the enactment of the LOK.

With a tenure of 20 years at the Centrale Bank van Curaçao en Sint Maarten (CBCS), where he held various roles, including supervision and management team membership, Pietersz brings extensive experience to his new position. 

His expertise is expected to enhance operational efficiency, anti-money laundering (AML) measures and regulatory compliance as Curaçao undergoes jurisdictional changes.

Pietersz commented: “I am honoured to join the Gaming Control Board at such a dynamic time. I am confident that together with the team and the Supervisory Board we will strategically steer the GCB into a new era while delivering value to all stakeholders including the Minister of Finance.”

This announcement follows the news of Continent 8 Technologies' upcoming data centre site in Curaçao, aligning with initiatives set out by the Curaçao Gaming Control Board to revise the licensing procedures for operators on the island.
